• adding greenery to a jug or vase
• stack books below an item
• place a wooden stand below items to add extra height

Tip 2: Bring In Texture

Keep the grouping interesting by adding in texture. This isn’t as hard as it may sound and you likely already have options around your home. Some great ideas include:

• pottery and ceramics
• textured glass
• bone or tile in picture frames
• wooden items like bowls or chains
• small baskets
• trays
• plants
• candles & unique matches

Tip 3: Avoid Clutter

While you want to make the grouping on your coffee table feel unique and interesting you’ll want to avoid crossing the line into clutter. The simple way to avoid this mistake:

Don’t fill the space with all small pieces.

You will want to make sure you have a variety of items in your grouping to give it interest, but make sure they vary in both height and size. Having all small pieces on your coffee table will feel like clutter.
