Styling A Coffee Table

Looking for secrets about how to style your coffee table top? Thoughtful pieces here and there can go a long way in creating the cozy environment we all crave at the end of the day.

These four tips will have you arranging and styling your coffee table to make your room feel extra inviting. Read on to see how simple it can be to style your space.

Tip 1: Play With Heights

Always my first tip when styling a flat surface, make sure to have a variety of heights. Make sure you have different heights in your grouping of items. You want it to feel collected and thoughtful but still interesting.

Beyond looking for items with different heights you can mix up the heights by:

  • adding greenery to a jug or vase
  • stack books below an item
  • place a wooden stand below items to add extra height

Tip 2: Bring In Texture

Keep the grouping interesting by adding in texture. This isn’t as hard as it may sound and you likely already have options around your home. Some great ideas include:

Tip 3: Avoid Clutter

While you want to make the grouping on your coffee table feel unique and interesting you’ll want to avoid crossing the line into clutter. The simple way to avoid this mistake:

Don’t fill the space with all small pieces.

You will want to make sure you have a variety of items in your grouping to give it interest, but make sure they vary in both height and size. Having all small pieces on your coffee table will feel like clutter.
